JVAS encourages authors to promote transparency and reproducibility by making the data supporting their published findings available wherever ethically, legally and practically possible.
Authors should include a Data Availability Statement where appropriate, particularly for research involving substantial datasets.
Acceptable statements may include:
Data available on request:
"The datasets generated and/or analysed during the current study are
available from the corresponding author on reasonable request."
Data cannot be shared:
"The data supporting this study cannot be made publicly available because of
[ethical, legal, confidentiality or other legitimate reason]."
Authors remain responsible for ensuring that data sharing complies with:
· animal ethics requirements;
· privacy and confidentiality requirements;
· owner consent;
· institutional policies;
· applicable laws; and
· third-party data-use restrictions.
